6 Ideas for a Day Out with Girlfriends! | Stamford Moms

Miss the days when weekends were spent hanging out with girlfriends? And I don’t mean just being in the same room wrangling toddlers between constantly interrupted conversations and an occasional sip of wine. I mean real quality time laughing and having heart to heart conversation. Well when you’re lucky enough to get away for one of those priceless days now, it can be hard to figure out where to go. So, I’ve put together a list of fun places for a moms’ day out (sans kids).

Relax

If you’re looking to a place to go relax for the day, the Mayflower Grace Inn & Spa is the perfect option! It’s in Washington, CT which is about an hour and a half away from Stamford. But, it’s well worth the drive if you have the full day to get away! The services are wonderful (I loved the facial I got)! And the lounge area is a little piece of heaven. You’ll seriously never want to leave… especially if you can snag one of the comfy lounge chairs that overlooks the beautiful grounds. When it comes time for lunch, stay at the spa and have your lunch delivered (wine, too) or head to the Inn! The only problem is… you’ll never want to leave!

Shop

Head out on a shopping trip… for YOU! Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in Central Valley, NY is a great option and it’s just over an hour away. The selection of stores includes Barneys New York Warehouse, Burberry, Dylan’s Candy Bar, Lululemon and J.Crew Factory. There’s a great selection of restaurant options too, including Le Pain Quotidien, Chipotle, Pinkberry and Shake Shack!

Greenwich Avenue is another fun shopping destination if you’re looking to spend just a few hours away, rather than a whole day!

Workout

Grab your girlfriends and head out for a workout! There are so many options in Stamford from boxing classes to aerial fitness, yoga and more! Check the Stamford Moms 2022 Fitness Guide for a complete list!

Looking to make a full day of it? Head to Mystic, CT for the Fearless Flyers Academy and try your hand at the flying trapeze or the trampoline! Plus you can stop at Mystic Pizza or one of the other great restaurants in Mystic for lunch and walk around town!

Cooking Class

Nora’s Ovenworks in Ridgeway offers cookie decorating classes and other baking classes that are great for a group! She even offers some cooking classes. Check out the options here!

Get Creative

Bring out your artistic side with a little painting. Pinot’s Palette in Stamford is a great option… plus they provide beer, wine and specialty cocktails.

Happy Hands Pottery is a fun one, too! Choose a pre-made pottery item and paint away!

Brunch or Dinner

Brunch with girlfriends is always a fun and delicious idea! Table 104, Divina Olio and the Wheel at the Village area a few of our favorite options.

If you’re looking to dine in an igloo this winter, check our list of options here!
